Castle Wedding Luxury Amenities
Grand Reception Hall
The Agora Grand Event Center, one of America’s most unique castle wedding venues, was created from a 20-story 19th-century Neogothic church. Its incredible Reception Hall showcases gorgeous columns supporting a 55-foot ceiling, a completely restored stained glass Rose window, a fully stocked bar created from recycled pipe organ elements, and a state-of-the-art sound and light system that will impress your guests and provide the ultimate setting for your elegant, memorable event.
Hand-built in 1890 to the exacting standards of architect Patrick Keely and under the supervision of Bishop James Healy, the first American Bishop of African descent, the sanctuary of the former St. Patrick’s Church remains a breathtaking testament to the relationship between Man and Maker.
Filled with history, classic workmanship, and intricate details, the Reception Hall is one of the most stunning rooms in all of New England. Ideal for those who exhibit a discriminating taste and an appreciation for the highest quality, the Reception Hall reflects the elegance you wish to exude.
Royal Tower Honeymoon Suite
An incredible amenity not available anywhere else in New England, the Honeymoon Suite is located underneath the steeple inside Maine’s tallest tower. Surrounded by original stained glass windows and with exclusive access to our Balcony Lounge — complete with a luxurious bathroom and whirlpool tub — the Honeymoon Suite is the ideal place to spend the evening with your loved one.
You will be pampered with luxury and a picturesque backdrop that cannot be matched. The Royal Tower Honeymoon Suite is the only experience of its kind and available only at the Agora Grand.
Traditional Chapel
The Chapel at the Agora Grand has been painstakingly preserved. Surrounded by over a dozen mesmerizing stained glass windows, the Chapel seats up to 200 guests facing a beautiful altar showcasing an original painting by Maine artist Harry Cochrane. The Chapel, like the Reception Hall, is handicapped accessible and air conditioned. The chandeliers and interior stained glass provide a romantic ambiance that will bring a classic elegance to your wedding.
The Chapel is connected via a hallway to the Reception Hall so your guests never even need to leave the building. It is located adjacent to the Inn at the Agora so you can get ready at the inn before your ceremony and then retreat with the wedding party after the ceremony for pictures.
Balcony Lounge
The Balcony Lounge is the crown jewel of the Agora Grand. Created from the original pipe organ and choir loft, the Balcony Lounge is an exceptionally comfortable, fully furnished lounge ideal for wedding parties, VIP affairs, small private retreats, and other gatherings of up to 50 important guests.
The Balcony Lounge features outstanding views of the Reception Hall as well as a large, luxurious bathroom complete with whirlpool hot tub. The second level Viewing Platform, located nearly three stories above the Reception Hall, provides the ultimate intimate setting and exclusive retreat.
Inn at the Agora
Created from the former St. Patrick’s Church Rectory, The Inn at the Agora is the perfect location for your wedding party or out-of-town guests. At the Inn at the Agora, you’ll discover an infusion of modern luxury in historical surroundings.
